Emmet Fox E-Zine

Emmet Fox once said that his favorite
novelists, Charles Dickens, saw in Christmas a challenge to love, and let itself
express.
Dickens conveyed a message of the importance of beauty, love and kindness in
man, and how man should display the giving spirit.
God so loved the world, that he gave to mankind His greatest gift, His only son.
In Dickens' "Christmas Carol,"
Scrooge's spiritual transformation may be more profound than the pat miracle
that happens at the end of the story.
At the end of the book Scrooge proclaims, "I shall love (Christmas) as long as I
live."
This is the celebration of love, and the celebration of life. This is the
realization of the Christ within.
This is the meaning of Christmas.
Wishing everyone here in our E-Zine family, a holiday of Love.

Christmas is the festival of the rebirth. Sooner or later we all have to be born again as Jesus said because it is no use trying to patch up the old man. The way of salvation is to let a new man be born. This new birth is brought about by realizing our essential oneness with God, and this is the real meaning of Christmas. That this can be done, that we can really become the conscious expression of God, is the most wonderful news in the world, and that is why it is called the Gospel. For the same reason, everyone should be happy at Christmas; and the best way to be happy yourself is to make others happy. To find the Christ in yourself is to find It in all others too. Most people have some extra leisure at Christmas time. This year try the experiment of spending some of that time in definitely seeking the Wonder Child in yourself. Think about it, affirm it, listen for the response. The reason so many people miss the best Thing in Life is that their hearts are so cluttered up with the intimate details of everyday living that there is no room for the one thing that matters. The Christmas holiday is an ideal time to prepare your soul for the great in-carnation. Seek, and you shall find.

Forget The Past
"Quite soon we shall be thinking of the year as drawing to a close and the time will be right for making new resolutions. For some persons the last of the old year becomes a good time for a good mental housecleaning. Even those who have not learned through the study of Truth to renew their mind day by day, find that the practice of clearing their thought once a year and making new resolutions stimulates them to forget the past and to take a new hold on life. Forgetting the past does not seem easy for some persons. Wounded pride, hurt feelings, rebellion against defeat, are matters that many hug to themselves stubbornly and tenaciously, unless the light of Truth dawns upon them and they see the folly of their foolishness. They discover, after all, that the past is nothing of itself. Only their memory of it and their reaction to thoughts of the past can have any influence upon their present state. Do you have difficulty in forgetting the past? Do you find yourself unable to break away from memories of disappointment and failure? Then cease to give importance to that which you call the past. In your world, the world of livingness, the world of today, there is no past, there are no memories of unpleasant happenings of yesterday.
“When you stop expecting people to be perfect, you can like them for who they are.”

Live from within, if you would have power and peace. The world, as never before, needs you and me. It needs our unwavering faith in God. It needs our positive certainty of God-in-man -- the Christ. It needs our steadfast love. It needs the power that comes to one - - who through faith and love attains the Christ Consciousness. Let us radiate this consciousness at this blessed season and throughout the year, and thus help bring greater light to the world.

Give

thanks, the fault lies in yourself.”

Treatment For Peace
Peace is attained through quiet prayer that attunes me to my Father-God. He fills
me with inner peace and frees me from inharmony or disturbed thoughts.
I turn any distressing problem over to my Father and I rejoice that He is at hand.
Any anxiety about any situation is released to Him and His Peace reigns.
Today is the day to shed worry of every sort. If I am concerned about my health,
if my finances need strengthening, if a loved one is facing unpleasant circumstances,
if difficult decisions are before me, I turn to my Father and release these concerns
into His Hands. I know He loves me and pours out His Peace, causing any problems
to melt in His Presence. I feel His Peace beyond understanding taking charge in
my life.
In my peace I find great joy. I thrill to a new rhythm as I discover my Father's
presence within my being. I am joyous in my Father's presence, and all is well.
I am poised and centered in my Father and am truly at peace with myself and the
entire world. I am filled with His Joy.
