Preparing for Peace ~ Emmet Fox
PAUL SAYS THAT FAITH WITHOUT WORKS IS DEAD. In other
words, one should not sit and
pray only, but he should also take the
necessary material steps. It needs a combination
of the two things to bring
success.
It may be, in our personal lives, that taking the necessary material
steps may mean
going to an employment agency to look for a job, or getting a
medical examination,
or seeking legal advice. In each case, having prayed
first, we know that God is
directing our footsteps along the right paths.
Sometimes we put the cart before
the horse by taking the material steps
first, and then saying in effect, "Look God,
what I have done. Please confirm
my actions," or, "Please get me out of this mess."
So, as a nation, the
necessary material steps may mean building a strong economy,
stock-piling
essential materials, co-ordinating the efforts of labor, management,
and
government, and the hundreds of other things that will make a country strong.
But through it all, we should prepare for peace by constantly praying for peace,
because only in that way will the material steps that we take have any real
meaning
in the long run.
The world needs a spiritual revival, and in
praying for peace for this nation and
its friends, we should also pray for
our potential enemies as well. Hate is the
essence of war-love is the
essence of peace. See the Christ in all men.
Blessed is the nation whose God
is the Lord (Psalm 33: 12)
"You find peace not by rearranging the
circumstances of your life, but by realizing
who you are at the deepest
level." Eckhart Tolle

When
You Want Peace
Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy
palaces. Psalms 122:7
"When you want peace of mind-get away from things,"
counseled Emmet Fox, "and dwell
upon the Presence of God instead."
Your
palace is your own consciousness. The walls spoken of in this Bible verse are
invisible, but just as real as any stone wall. Your walls are your convictions
of
Truth which protect you from the negative suggestions that are broadcast
all around
you. Have a conviction of peace, entertain ideas of peace, seek to
be a peace-giver
to your world.
God does not withhold your good, but
neither does He force any good upon you. Instead,
you must cultivate within
yourself the equivalent of what you desire to be made
manifest in your life,
whether it is peace, joy, prosperity, health, advancement,
or whatever good
you seek.
First, know that it is your birthright to claim your good. Second,
prepare for that
good by building the equivalent of the good you seek into
your own consciousness.
Third, be grateful for the good you seek even before
you receive it. As you practice
these steps, you will have peace and
prosperity within the walls of your own consciousness.
Affirm now with
feeling: I prepare for my good by being grateful for it now.

Star of
Bethlehem
The star is man's first awakening before he realizes his Christ
wisdom and power.
The star of Bethlehem symbolizes our inner conviction of
our divine sonship. This
inner conviction of our ability to accomplish
whatever we undertake calls forth
the very best in us and helps us to
succeed where other of equal ability fail. The
accumulated wisdom and
experience of a man (the Wise Men from the East) rejoice
when faith in one's
destiny to do the will of God begins to rise within, and all
the riches of
wise experiences, such as gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh,
are
bestowed on the young child. These gifts represent the subconscious reserve
forces of the organism that enter into and form the new man in Christ.
Stake Your Claim
You can have true
success and happiness in life if you consistently put these truths into practice
in your daily living. It is your God - given duty to Stake Your Claim to peace,
poise, power,
prosperity and health - and God expects you to be satisfied with nothing less.

Forget The Past
Frank B. Whitney
"Quite soon we shall be thinking of the year as
drawing to a close and the time
will be right for making new resolutions. For some
persons the last of the old year
becomes a good time for a good mental housecleaning.
Even those who have not learned
through the study of Truth to renew their mind day by
day, find that the practice
of clearing their thought once a year and making new
resolutions stimulates them
to forget the past and to take a new hold on life.
Forgetting the past does not
seem easy for some persons. Wounded pride, hurt feelings,
rebellion against defeat, are matters that many hug to
themselves stubbornly and
tenaciously, unless the light of Truth dawns upon them
and they see the folly of
their foolishness. They discover, after all, that the
past is nothing of itself.
Only their memory of it and their reaction to thoughts
of the past can have any
influence upon their present state.
Do you have difficulty in
forgetting the past? Do you find yourself unable to break
away from memories of disappointment and failure? Then
cease to give importance
to that which you call the past. In your world, the
world of livingness, the world
of today, there is no past, there are no memories of
unpleasant happenings of yesterday.
How You Can Change Your Life ~ James A Decker
I once
read a simple explanation, by a metaphysical writer, that proved of lasting
worth to me in learning how to achieve what I wanted. Perhaps this writer's
conception
will be helpful to you, too.
He said, in effect, that man's
mind may be thought of as immense streams of force
moving in concentric
circles. The outer circles are the conscious, human mentality
upon which are
impressed the waking thoughts of daily life. Within, at the center
of these
circling forces, is the superconscious mind, the very core of force, the
Christ dwelling in us.
The casual thoughts that we think affect only the
outer circles of the human mind.
But when we want something deeply-when our
desire is genuine and strong enough-we
touch not only the outer circles but
the inner core as well. It is at such moments-when
desire for our good is
strongest within us-that we are in direct contact with God,
that we touch Him
and bring His power into action in our outer lives.
Most of us touch the
inner mind, the Christ Mind, only at intervals when our desire
and faith
produce a combination strong enough to press through the outer circles
of
mere human wishing. But it is possible to be in constant touch with the
limitless
powers of the superconscious mind. The strong mind is the mind that
is in such close
contact with the Christ Mind that its limitless powers can
be felt at any time.
Jesus demonstrated the power of such a mind when He
performed His mighty works.
We can demonstrate wonderful results in our
lives when we, too, learn to be at one
with the Christ in us.
There is no
limit to the good we can claim. But we can claim our good only as we
develop
our ability to accept and use it. That is why concentration is such an
important part of wanting. Mere formless wanting or a vague, haphazard wishing
for
something-anything-accomplishes little. In any situation, results are
accomplished
by our concentrating all our wanting on our highest good. Once
this good is attained,
we proceed to concentrate on another situation, and so
on. This is true progress:
concentrating the whole of our desire upon
continuous advancement. To move forward,
we must advance in the present; and
if we continue to move forward, we will reach
any goal we may have in view.
How would you change your life? It is up to you.
"Yesterday I was clever, so
I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I
am changing myself."
Rumi
Peace & Harmony Abound in our World!
Peace is at the center of everything: The eternal equilibrium of the
universe is
never even temporarily disturbed; there is a place within us
which is this equilibrium.
As we align ourself with the presence of God
within, we re-establish inner peace.
When a disagreement, difficulty or
personal drama arises, remember the stillness
at the core of your being. Rest
in that stillness, even for just a moment. Allow
the presence of God to rise
up in you. As peace soothes our mind you can return
to face the situation at
hand, bringing along God's peace, and experience its transforming
energies.
